Privé Nightclub

Edge Club has been revamped and joined the growing list of members only club as Privé

Hong Kong's clubs are all fast becoming and converting into member's only meaning you have to be something special and with some stature in order to get in. This is all good for reasons such as being better quality nightclubs, controlled flow of party-goers, better management and most of all, it makes you feel elite, that is if you can get in anyway. Club Privé is no short of this standard standing high up in the newest hip nightlife area of Wyndham Street just off the all-time popular area of you know, Lan Kwai Fong of course.

6000 square feet is what Privé is based in called The Centrium, decorated in Moroccan style, brown, sand, drapes, get the picture? Hip hop and R and B is what you will be dancing to on the small yet functional dancefloor that is in very easy reach of the bar where you'll be drinking up their lady named cocktails to make the night that little bit more eclectic. A big screen dominates the arena, something for you to pretend to be busy watching if you're not too keen in publicising your dance moves. All in all, a place that you should give a go to let your hair down for one crazy night!

Anyone know how to get membership at the Prive? And what do you get upon becoming a member?

A good friend of mine recently visited this club on a thursday night and was refused entry because he is in a wheelchair. Flat out told him he cant come in for his safety, blah, blah, blah. It may be from direction of the club owners or just down right discrimination from the individual.. The owners need to wake up and look at the people they employ.. Totally unacceptable and distasteful... Shame on PRIVE!

How can you deny access to someone in a wheelchair?? That's ridiculous. Instead of focusing on being elite, perhaps you souls focus on not discriminating against people in wheelchairs! I agree with Allen! Shame on you!

Goes to show the backwards thinking in this city. I haven't seen that sort of blatant discrimination since visiting a club in Germany. Unacceptable.

How can you deny access to someone in a wheelchair?? Your policy is ridiculous. You should not be discriminating against people in wheelchairs! Shame on you Prive, not letting a wheelchair user in because you don't follow proper laws, yer just lucky it wasn't me you kicked out or I'd of went ape shit on yer bouncers and I'd love to see the club explode when yer tough guys start fighting the guy in the wheelchair!
Shame on you!

I would like to believe that our world is a fair and just place, but i'm wrong. It never has been and l do feel for what happened to my friend that it will never be. Unfortunately descrimination still exist and I feel that it was totally unfair and humilating for my friend that he had the entrance denied just because he is in a wheelchair. I totally agree with the two last comments above and I'm just glad to find out the kind of club you are running!!

I thought we were in a better world, with less ignorant classier people? Explain to me how you are going to deny a man in a wheelchair? THAT IS DISCRIMINATION! !! No matter what the excuse is your staff could have handled it with more class. Such a shame because no matter how hot the club, I would never want to throw my money away in a venue that has ZERO CLASS and treats people like trash.

I am writing in regards to my good friend who was denied access to a club because he is in a wheel chair..This guy can dance way better then most of us with leggs and let me tell ya he can do some great stuff...Wheel chair folks are amazing and they deserve to be treated like regular people..Change the policies and let people with disabilities have access to your establishments! Wheel chairs Rock! We are all human!

I don't understand why you would deny someone in a wheelchair access to your club, that's so wrong on so many levels, people with disabilities are people that have the same rights as anyone else, but apparently not at your club. I hope many people read these postings and stay away from your club

My friend Roberto Molina, whom is on the Canadian provincial wheelchair basketball team and who was invited by Canada to be in the opening of the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Has been unjustly treated by China & Club Prive', for being in a wheelchair. My friend was refused entrance to the club because of his disability. I could only imagine how such a Canadian hero , whom has overcome & achieved more than most able bodied people have must have felt at that brutal moment... Shame on you China...

DONT GO TO THIS CLUB.

PRIVE is a low class bar. They are racist and discriminate against individuals in wheelchairs. Regardless of how much you are willing to spend the low class management that makes a few measly dollars will turn you away.

My friend visiting HK from Canada went to Prive last week and the door people went on about his safety and not to let him in. I thought this was Hong Kong in the 21st century, not the dark ages!

PRIVE, shame on you!

If you give this bar your money, you are supporting this type of behaviour which is absolutely reprehensible. Hong Kong needs to rid itself of these embarassing and demeaning types of managers and establishments. Vote against discrimination with your wallets!

What is the problem with having people in wheelchairs enter your club??? My friend on vacation in Hong Kong was denied entrance for no other reason than being in a wheelchair. He was invited by Canada to participate in the opening of the Vancouver Olympics and also plays on the Canadian basketball team. Yet your club has it's own discrimination rules. I thought this was 2010, not the 1930s.

Remember, it's a members' club. If the guy in a wheelchair was a member or said he'd drop a lot of $$$, they'd probably let him in. I've seen plenty of people of all types get turned away from Prive and other clubs in Hong Kong, New York and London.

@ DAve
Members club is bs to discriminate as those bouncers see fit. My single friends all have nice jobs and $$$ and we go elsewhere especially now Prive has moved into a 'cellar" (what a come down!) cos couldn't afford the rent cos their ignorant but self important bouncers were turning away the right people.
Kudos to the teammates for posting! Solidarity!

If it really was for his own safety, they should've made sure he'd be safe all night long... And yes I've seen guys in wheelchairs in clubs who were in addition, receiving a royal treatment! That's what I call GREAT service, not these ones that are self-appointed.
