Schnurrbart

A German themed watering hole in Lan Kwai Fong where Germans themselves call authentic!

If you've been to Germany or you are from Germany, then you really should take a trip to the heart of Lan Kwai Fong for a drink or some food at Schnurrbart. This German styled pub has been in operation for over 25 years and is reminiscent of those pubs that you find in its homeland. The setting is very laid back making you feel welcomed and isn't intimidating to enter if this is going to be your first time. On the walls are old photos of German breweries with beer steins along the shelves. The focal point has to be the authentic German coats of arms. Look out for it!

So what do you do after you are in Schnurrbart's? Drink of course!. Germans have defined a new concept of drinking and that's in large quantities of quality brewed beer. Most of their beers are imports from Germany with a few hard to find beers in around Hong Kong such as Warsteiner Pilsener, Konig pilsener and Veltins Pilsener which is poured in a very special way, 7 minutes to be exact. Try out the metre long schnapps served on a metre long piece of wood carrying 20 shots. One cool way to start the night partying.

Food is also served here in good ole German style, that is large and simplistic portions. Try the pork knuckles or the sausage platter. Mash potatoes are a hit aswell!
