The Fong BarYou can't go wrong at The Fong in Lan Kwai Fong! The Fong is situated at prime position on main D'Aguilar Street which I have to admit that I usually go here if I don't want anything too fussy and just want to go for a few drinks with my mates, or maybe to top up on happy hour drinks before we move on to somewhere more "themed", I should say. So why do I come here time after time? Well, it's just so convenient to reach to after work and when you're walking up the steepness that D'Aguilar Street is looking for a place to sit with a cold beer asap, you see The Fong on your left-hand side with open patio doors which totally says "come here to me!" (in a non-sexual way by the way), which is hard to resist. On the ground floor, seating is in read leather on the booth seats and tall stools where the expats prefer to spend their drinking time. There are two bars, one on this floor and one on the 1st floor lounge which has a groovier feel to it and also where the locals all scurry up to. After around 11pm, the music picks up and The Fong gets busier and people start dancing on what space they can find. I don't know what happens upstairs because I have never sat up there, but only to use the toilet which is situated on 1st floor. Maybe the locals are strutting their stuff aswell or they maybe a bit too conservative for that. I recommend the ground floor where it's buzzing with energy.
