Yilou Club

Thriving nightclub for hardcore clubbers located in Lan Kwai Fong for some late night partying.

Yilou which means "first floor" in Putonghua, had one thing in mind during the design stage and that's clubbing. Usually very popular with rising stars of Hong Kong and the Mainland aswell, you can dance away rubbing shoulders with them on the dancefloor until the wee hours of the night. Opened until 4am the last time I checked.

From 9.30pm onwards Yilou starts playing R&B and hip hop to get you into the mood with the initial head nodding while you hold your cocktail or beer in one hand to full blown prancing. OK, so maybe that's just me. After 15 minutes of exercising your feet, go to the bar centered in the middle in a semi-circled design where they serve mainstream alcoholic beverages. As always in nightclubs, the air gets a little bit musty but fear not; they have windows which you can open for a breath of fresh air or should I say a breath of polluted air because this is Hong Kong. Don't get me started!
